You will find a lot of cool information that many Akita owners do not know how to do with their Akitas. Such as “How do I get my Akita to play fetch?”. Trust and believe me, I am not messing with you. This is something not many Akita owners master. I am happy to share it with you guys, so you can play fetch with your Akita and burn out their energy a whole lot easier!
“Akita”? Aren’t there two different types of Akitas?
Yes, there are the Japanese Akitas and American Akitas. These two types are different breeds, as there are enough differences between the physical build and personality. It makes more sense to separate them, as it’s not like the American Akita breeders are contacting the Japanese Akita breeders, and vice versa, they haven’t been! But there are enough similarities that they both hold the title “AKITA” in their name.
How is the word “Akita” used in Bear Dogs – The Akita?
Many refer to “Akitas” as either the American or Japanese Akita, but that’s what makes gathering information so complicated. I will make it simple. “Akita” means I am speaking of both breeds. There’s no need to keep reading “American and Japanese Akitas…American and Japanese Akitas…”, if I am speaking of something that is related to ALL Akitas.
“American Akita” = American Akita
“Japanese Akita” & “Akita Inu” = Japanese Akita
“Akita” = referring to BOTH the American & Japanese Akitas
